China

Xue Yanqun was born in Dalian, China, in 1953. He was graduated from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Shenyang, in 1981 and remained there to teach. In 1989 he received a Master of Fine Arts. He is now an associate professor in the Academy, and a member of the Chinese Fine Art Association and Chinese Oil-Painting Association.

More than 200 of his figurative oil paintings have been shown in China and overseas exhibitions since 1984. He won a silver medal, two bronze and some honorary rewards in these exhibitions. Six pieces of his works were shown and sold in the auctions of Christie's Swire in Hong Kong and Taipei. About 220 pieces of his oil paintings have been acquired by Chinese National Art Gallery, overseas art galleries, and private collectors.
